A traditional blend of English shapes and stylized Oriental flowers gives Chinese Rose dinnerware its unique appeal. The pattern is reminiscent of rich tapestries with its soft coloring and intricate banding. Because it is Spode's Imperialware, the 5 Piece Placesetting which includes 1 Dinner Plate 10 inch, 1 Salad Plate 8 inch, 1 Cereal Bowl 6 inch, 1 Tea cup 7 ounce and 1 Tea Saucer 6 inch is stylish and versatile.Thanks to its sophisticated color palette and richly detailed bordering, Spode's Chinese Rose dinnerware creates a well-dressed table. Muted tones of blue, pink, orange, gold, and green form stylized flowers amidst textured leaves and branches. Adding to its traditionally elegant look, intricate geometric bands in a subdued black outline plate and bowl perimeters as well as the teacup's opening. Although attractive enough to save for special occasions, strong earthenware construction combined with a glossy finish enable the line to handle the rigors of day-to-day use--including dishwasher cleaning and microwave heating.
With a small twist on the typical five-piece place setting, this ensemble includes a 6-inch cereal bowl rather than the more common soup bowl or bread and butter plate.
