One of the classic tableware patterns, Blue Italian has been in continuous production in England since 1816. Perfectly framed by the 18th Century Chinese border, the central scene of the Italian ruins from a late 17th Century drawing, each piece still requires the most skilled hand engraving to create its remarkable sense of space and style. The Cafetiere French Press is the coffee maker of the sophisticated Blue Italian collector. Perfect for everyday use and when entertaining and will be cherished for years to come! Made in England of high-quality earthenware, Imperialware.Continuously produced in England since 1816, the Blue Italian pattern from Spode will easily find a home on a casual or more formal table. Utilizing an underglaze printing process created by Josiah Spode and still employed today, varying shades of blue and white make up the lovely design, adding a 3-dimensional depth to each piece.
Perfectly sized for one person to make a quick cup of coffee, this 1-1/2-cup French press beautifully complements the entire line of Blue Italian tableware pieces. Designed to prevent scorching of the beans, the cafetiere also ensures that the flavorful oils are maintained to create a fresher cup of coffee. Standing 7-1/4 inches tall, the easy-to-clean pyrex glass carafe is surrounded by a satin finish, stainless steel frame. Holding the glass container in place, the stainless steel casing also forms the small base and modern handle of the French press. Crafted from Spode's high-quality earthenware, the top of the cafetiere lid is decorated with the classic Blue Italian design depicting late 17th Century Italian ruins in a pastoral setting with an 18th Century Chinese-inspired floral motif decorating the outer edge.
